HI,
After reviving frm the sticker shock of the price of well contractors these days, ($10K) I found this:
www.hydratek2000.com/
and this
members.tripod.com/~Tetworld/phil1.html
I figure, if we get 5 people to buy in and help each other, it's practically free! Well, less than $1,000 per well, anyway.
PLUS - I heard from my longtime neighbors out there that half the wells in my area are HOT wells - is that cool or what?! Natural hot pool, anyone? I'm sending for hydrology maps to figure it out.
Feel free to pss this around. :)

Re: DIY well drilling - links, ideas -- seek small work co-op, Joshua Tree area
Tue, May 9, 2006 - 4:57 PMI may be buying land in Wonder Valley. But if water is that close to the surface I think there are less expensive well-digging rigs. If I do end up buying in the area ( or anywhere within a few hundred miles of there) I'd be interested in doing something cooperatively. -

Re: DIY well drilling - links, ideas -- seek small work co-op, Joshua Tree area
Tue, May 30, 2006 - 9:06 AMI found more DIY well-drilling, based on some plans that a Marine Base engineer posted on the web.
I'd like to talk to him about it before starting the project, but the drilling itself was practicaly free. It is tedious though (pounding pipe in), so a work co-op would still be a good idea.
