Stuff you own vs. the place you make home

Our vision of free carpentry was to work with people to create spectacular places. Living places where people live and work and play and truly exist. Treehouses, gardens, studios, barns, strawbale and cob houses, secret sitting spaces in the wild forest, playgrounds for children and adults, that kind of thing.

While we all own stuff, and fill our homes with stuff that means a lot to us. And some of that stuff, furniture, beds, cabinetry involves carpentry, isn't truly our cup of tea.

(The moderator will likely remove threads that wander too far from that vision of free carpentry. No offense is intended, of course. It's our fault for not being more specific.)

There are DIY lists to help folks do-it-yourself cabinetry, carpentry, fixing things, etc. Here are some (hopefully) helpful tribes, you can track down:

DIY - do it yourself - http://do_it_yourself.tribe.net
Fine Woodworking - finewoodworking.tribe.net
Japanese Carpentry - japanesecarpentry.tribe.net
Handy Grrls - HandyGrrls.tribe.net
We Fix Stuff - fixit.tribe.net
home repair and improvement - search for it

And this is just for starters, using tribe search for a few minutes.

On the other hand, if you need help creating a very special place, a home, an office, a place to play, post a note in Free Carpentry. If you have skills to share, post a note in the skills section and tell everyone want skills you have and where you live.
